--  ISWC travel awards (请尽快申请)
很奇怪,中国国内的申请还没有收到。可以申请SWSA的travel funds。请抓紧时间申请,命中的机会应该比较大。如果您有一篇ISWC Workshop的投稿,命中几率会更大。

-----------------------------------------------------------

Applications due Sept. 10, 2010! See below for details.

We are pleased to announce that both the U.S. National Science
Foundation (NSF) and the Semantic Web Science Association (SWSA) have
contributed funds to support participation by full-time students in
ISWC 2010. SWSA and NSF will provide 10,000 € and $20,000
respectively, with NSF funds being earmarked to support students
attending U.S. Universities. We anticipate that the SWSA funds will
support 15 awards between 600-800 €, and that the NSF funds will
support 13 awards of approximately $1500, although the actual award
amounts could be significantly different, depending on the number of
qualified applicants. To be eligible for NSF funds, you must be:

   * A full-time student attending a U.S. university
   * Agree to only use U.S. airlines to travel to ISWC 2010
   * Have an alternate source of funding for your conference
registration fee, since the NSF funds do not cover registration fees.

All full-time students are eligible for SWSA funds, although these
funds will primarily be used for students attending schools outside of
the U.S. SWSA funds have no restrictions on airlines and can cover
registration costs.

Our goal is to encourage students who want to become part of the
Semantic Web research community, and we hope that participation in
ISWC 2010 will be a significant event in the graduate careers of the
selected students. In selecting applications for travel support,
preference will be given to students selected to participate in the
doctoral consortium, followed by students who are first author on a
paper accepted at the conference, followed by students who have other
authorship on a conference or related workshop paper.

In order to apply, please submit an e-mail to
iswc-fellowships@cse.lehigh.edu that is formatted as specified below.
Also have your advisor e-mail a recommendation to the same address in
which he/she states support for your application and affirms your
status as a full-time student. To receive full consideration, both
applications and advisor letters must be received by Sept. 10, 2010.
We will notify applicants of award decisions by Sept. 24, 2010.

Name: your name
E-mail: your e-mail address
Institution: name of your school; it's location (city, state or country)
Advisor: name, email address
Program of Study: whether you are seeking a M.S. or Ph.D., and your
expected graduation date

Seeking NSF Funds: yes/no. Replying Yes means that you are currently
attending a U.S. university and are willing to abide by the
restrictions mentioned above (i.e. you will only fly on a U.S. airline
and will pay for conference registration via another source)
Total Estimated Expenses: in U.S. dollars or Euros (be sure to specify which)
Minimum Fellowship Needed: The minimum amount of fellowship funds that
you need in order to be able to attend ISWC, considering other sources
of funding that you may have available. This number will not influence
the amount you are awarded, only whether or not you are awarded a
fellowship at all. If the amount we can award you is under this
number, then we will not award you a fellowship, since you have stated
that you would not be able to use it for travel to ISWC.
Itemized Estimated Expenses:
Itemized list of estimated expenses for travel, lodging, meals, and
incidentals. If you are not seeking NSF funds, then also include your
registration fee. If you are seeking NSF funds, then make sure that
your air fare considers that you will be flying on a U.S. airline.

Research Interests:
Please provide a one paragraph description

ISWC Activities:
List of all papers that have been accepted (or are still under
consideration for) the ISWC doctoral consortium, research or in use
tracks, poster and demo track, an ISWC workshop, or the Semantic Web
Challenge. For each paper, give the title, all authors, submission
target and status.

If you are awarded a fellowship, you will be expected to submit an
expense report along with copies of your receipts in order to receive
reimbursement for your travel after the conference.
