Congratulations to ebXML Messaging Services TC chair, Ian Jones, and to all TC participants for this accomplishment. http://www.oasis-open.org/archives/tc-announce/200710/msg00000.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Consortium solicits feedback on proposed SDO TC charter Members are asked to review and comment on a draft charter to establish the OASIS Service Data Objects (SDO) TC. The group plans to evolve and standardize specifications defining the SDO architecture and API. Proposers include representatives of BEA, IBM, Oracle, SAP, and Xcalia. The comment period for the charter closes 9 Oct. http://www.oasis-open.org/archives/tc-announce/200709/msg00004.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------- OASIS Standard ballots on SAML Metadata open soon The OASIS Security Services TC has submitted two specification sets to be considered as OASIS Standards: 1) the Metadata Profile for the Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) V1.x and 2) the Metadata Extension for SAML V2.0 and V1.x Query Requesters. SAML defines an XML-based framework for creating and exchanging security information between online partners. On 16 Oct, Calls for Vote will be issued to all OASIS member organizations. CGM Open developed and currently maintains WebCGM, an application of the ISO-standard Computer Graphics Metafile for electronic documents. One seat on the three-person Steering Committee is up for election, and any member of CGM Open may nominate a candidate for this two-year commitment. http://www.oasis-open.org/archives/members/200709/msg00006.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Register now for Open Standards Forum Members and non-members are strongly encouraged to reserve seats now for the Open Standards Forum, "Enabling Transformational Government through Web Services and SOA", which will be held on 29-30 Oct near London. Produced by OASIS and the Butler Group, this event will examine the role standards play in the interoperability of services in public sector IT environments. The international conference will feature speakers from Asia, Central Europe, North America, and Western Europe. Keynotes will be presented by Jagdip Grewal of the NHS Connecting for Health; John Wailing of the UK Home Office; and David Keene of SAP UK. Delegates will participate in a mock election, demonstrating interoperability of the Election Markup Language (EML). Held in conjunction with the OpenOffice.org 2007 conference, the event tested documents generated in StarOffice/OpenOffice.org, IBM Symphony, Google Docs, KOffice, MS Office 2003 + Sun plug-in, MS Office 2003 + odf-converter and SEPT-solutions Mobile Office.
