Originally, when it appeared on the Web, the last few lines look like this:

The furthest distance in the world
Is not  (blank...missing a line)
But using one s indifferent heart
To dig an uncrossable river
For the one who loves you

Compare that to the Chinese text and you can see there is a line missing.
世界上最遥远的距离，
不是明明无法抵挡这股想念 <--，(missing in the English text)却还得故意装作丝毫没有把你放在心里，
而是用自己冷漠的心对爱你的人掘了一条无法跨越的沟渠.

This is not, as rumour has it, an "English Poem", nor was it a translation of  one of

Tagore's poems.  This was originally written in Chinese and translated, somewhat poorly,

into English. Either the translator failed to figure out how to do that missing line, or

that  this "poem" was printed and reprinted with that line missing. A couple of web sites

claimed that the original version--i.e. the one in Chinese--was written by a Taiwanese

school girl.

One clue to this being not an English poem to  is the incorrect use of the word "furthest" instead of the correct  "farthest"

此詩並非"泰戈爾"的作品, 也不是英语诗。第一段是张小娴的作品，(Reference 1), 后来被一群台湾学生改编了(集體創作接龍 Reference 2--网上可找到有其它多段落的版本)(Reference 3)
不过英文版不知道是谁翻译的, 但是译得错误很多，第四段第二行译不出来，只写了两个字“Is not” (reference 4)

『泰戈爾詩集』，以三民書局出版(第八版)中譯本為本的話。
其中計收錄漂鳥集、新月集、採果集、頌歌集、園丁集、
愛貽集、橫渡集，但無『世界上最遙遠的距離』一詩.
其中漂鳥集共計三百二十六首，平均每首字數僅一、二行；
最多為四行。現在網路上盛傳出自『泰戈爾詩集』「漂鳥集」
的『世界上最遙遠的距離』至於其他小段，雖無法一一查
清真正作者，但在陽明神農坡（bbs.ym.edu.tw）九一級 醫學系可以查到蛛絲馬跡，可推定是集體創作接龍
