The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for design, development, and maintenance of high quality code for a given prototype or a proof-of-concept and act as the lead for significant portions of an applied research project. The successful candidate should be able to identify, evaluate and learn new technologies rapidly and build prototypes and PoCs using those technologies. The candidate will be a recognized technical resource for other team members, identify and address complex problems and have a recognized expertise in all areas of the product.

Responsibilities
 Responsible for the design and development of prototypes and PoC projects
 Provides overall functional and technical leadership for all project related development efforts
 Authors concise functional and design specifications
 Follows and enforces development processes and standard procedures using agile development approach
 Works with applied research leads and architects

Experience & Skills
 BS/MS Computer Science with minimum 5 years of relevant software development experience, research experience is a plus
 Self-motivated
 Ability to work with minimum supervision and set priorities
 Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
 Good English verbal and written communication skills.
 Strong experience in Java, C# and C++.
 Good understanding of J2EE architecture
 Skills in web service, SOA, ESB, web2.0 are very strong plus.
 Solid knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
• Network management
• Application and DB management
• Middleware
• Model-driven architectures
 Distributed processing, grid technologies
